June 2017

President's Message

Greetings,

2017 is off to a great start as we draw closer to the summer! Our Rochester PRSA chapter board and numerous committees have spent countless hours volunteering to bring even more value to a PRSA membership. Here are a few highlights to share:

- We are in the final stages of our research effort to refine and enhance our programming to better serve each of you! Thank you to everyone who participated in our focus groups and online surveys. Your feedback is invaluable and we plan to share this information at an upcoming event. The learnings will drive our programming and future communications with each of you.

- Our chapter had a strong presence at the Northeast District Conference in Corning with several presenters and dozens of attendees. Jane Dvorak, APR, Fellow and PRSA National Chair, was one of the highlighted speakers where she covered the important role of PR in today’s world where fake news and alternative facts are now a part of our lexicon. We’re working hard to bring Jane to Rochester later this year – stay tuned.

- Save the date of July 18 for our next programming event, including networking at Lost Borough and the opportunity to hear from one of Lost Borough’s partners on how they are successfully promoting their brand digitally and engaging audiences through social media. Additionally, this event is free for PRSA APRs! APRs get free admission and a free drink and are available to answer questions as well as share details on their personal APR journey.

Finally, the PRism Awards are just days away and we had a record-breaking number of submissions this year. I look forward to celebrating our area’s best and brightest communications work this Thursday, June 15 at the Arbor Loft!

Cheers,

Gregg Dinino
