Join PRSA Rochester for a Crisis Communications workshop where attendees will have the opportunity to work through various scenarios in a group setting.

Russ Hignett, business continuity manager at ESL Federal Credit Union, will lead participants through tabletop crisis scenarios that will allow groups to exercise crisis communication plans and messaging to address each scenario. Throughout the exercise, groups will also experience injects where they will have to adjust to address new information as it is provided. Groups will be pre-decided upon registration. Attendees will also leave with a table top best practices sheet that can help you run or manage similar exercises with clients or within your own organizations.

• 12:15 p.m. – Table Top Ground rules
• 12:30-2 p.m. – Crisis Scenarios (five injects per scenario)
• 2-2:30 p.m. – Debrief

About Russ Hignett, Business Continuity Manager, ESL Federal Credit Union

Russ Hignett joined ESL Federal Credit Union at the beginning of 2022 as the Business Continuity Manager, focused on operational readiness and resiliency.  He has almost two decades of professional experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery covering program development, impact analysis, facilitating disaster recovery and tabletop exercises as well as having a background in in various aspects of Information Technology and Cloud operations. Russ is also an active member of the Eastern Great Lakes Association of Continuity Professionals. Russ lives in Webster, NY with his wife Carrie and their blended family with 4 kids.
