The Young PR Professionals (YPRP) of PRSA Rochester Present:

 “How to Make the Most of Every Networking Opportunity!”

On Thursday, Feb. 16, the Young PR Professionals (YPRP) will host a professional networking session at RIT, moderated by Karen S. Olson, APR, on the following topics:

•  Where are the best networking opportunities?
•  What is the best way to start a productive networking conversation with someone you don’t already know?
•  How can you demonstrate you’re interested and engaged in conversations?
•  Is “name dropping” a plus or a turn-off?
•  When is a business card more than just a business card?
•  At what point is it okay to ask about job openings?
•  How can you “work the room” for maximum benefit?

These networking questions and more will be the focus during, “How to Make the Most of Every Networking Opportunity.”

Date: Thursday, Feb. 16

Time: 6:30-8 p.m.

Location: RIT, located in the READING ROOM in the SAU/Campus Center. Directions below.

Cost: $5 for all

Directions: Enter the RIT campus from the main entry way on Jefferson Rd. and follow the signs to park in D-LOT (located near the Field House and Ice Rink, adjacent to the SAU and Admin Buildings).

The parking lot is a very short walk to the SAU/Campus Center

But don’t just come to listen! This program will involve practicing your networking skills during a “grazing-style” dinner with networking tips provided throughout the evening by Karen S. Olson, APR, a professional networking facilitator and assistant professor in the Department of Communication at The College at Brockport, State University of New York.
