The new generation of teens and 20-somethings bring with them values, behaviors, and communication preferences that challenge our traditional PR message design strategies and tools. How can we communicate with publics and our own co-workers who are plugged into i-Pods and live in the parallel world of social media networks?

As the Dean and long-time faculty member in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, Diane Gayeski has been engaged in attracting, teaching, and designing learning experiences for Nexters, and helping them think about their careers and future lives. She knows how Nexters are different from those in classrooms even 10 years ago, and as a private consultant has worked with clients on communicating with this young generation.

In this engaging session, Diane will talk about:
1.    What social and psychological factors make Nexters tick
2.    How Nexters' values and skills may surprise you
3.    How to leverage social media, podcasts, and mobile computing tools to engage them as employees and customers
4.    How to deal with the growing percentage of Nexters who will require accommodations for their learning disabilities and psychological problems
5.    How to prepare your organization for the Nexter generation of consumers and employees
