More about the panelists:

Mark Liu is Editor of Features and Custom Content at the Democrat and Chronicle Media Group. He oversees the Living section and Weekend Magazine, and is editor-in-chief of Rochester Magazine, Canandaigua Magazine and other specialty publications. He grew up partly in Montreal and partly outside Binghamton, N.Y., came to Rochester to attend the University of Rochester and—other than a youthful stint traveling around Europe until the money ran out—has lived here ever since. One of his professional accomplishments was making Woody Allen laugh during a one-on-one interview. In addition to having been a reporter and theater reviewer, he worked for several years in the Communications Department at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Mark is married and has two children, a 9-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter, who will confirm that he is either the best ever or the absolute meanest—often within the same hour.

Evan Dawson is mid-day talk show host of Connections with Evan Dawson, which airs weekdays from 12-2pm on AM 1370. The show covers an array of topics including art, the economy, community affairs, politics, religion, and health. He joined WXXI in January 2014 after working at 13WHAM-TV, where he served as morning news anchor. He was hired as a reporter for 13WHAM-TV in 2003 before being promoted to anchor in 2007. Evan is also the author of Summer in a Glass: The Coming Age of Winemaking in the Finger Lakes and is the managing editor/Finger Lakes editor for the New York Cork Report, a web site that offers independent news, reviews, and commentary about the New York wine industry. He has written freelance articles on topics including politics, wine, travel, and Major League Baseball.

Carl Langsenkamp is the director of Global Analyst/Public Relations for Xerox Corporation. Previously, Carl served as the vice president of Global Public Relations for Xerox Corporation managing corporate, financial, diversity, sustainability, and product promotion, as well as crisis communications in North America, Europe and Developing Markets. Carl has served in various product and operating company PR roles within Xerox. Activities covered included building programs to support multiple regional locations throughout North America and media management of the company’s worldwide sponsorship for the Olympic Games.  He joined Xerox in 1995 as public relations manager for the company's sales and service organizations.

Prior to Xerox, Carl worked in radio and television news as both a reporter and producer. He also served as a communications manager for the New York State Senate and has worked for a high-tech public relations agency. He received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio State University.

Meghan Backus Palumbo has been the Director of Fund Development, Event Planning and Public Relations at The Center for Youth since November 2013. She previously served as Public Relations Specialist at Highland Hospital for nearly three years. Prior to transitioning to the PR world, she was a reporter and substitute anchor at News 8 and Fox Rochester. Meghan graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Her first job out of college was as a producer/reporter/editor –  you name it –  at a start-up TV news station in Springfield, Mass.
